Award Environment news : Liberty Bottleworks Honored by Association of Washington Businesses for Environmental Excellence

Company receives Green Enterprise & Technology award

Union Gap, Wash. – May 15, 2013 - Liberty Bottleworks was honored last week as one of seven companies across Washington State to receive an Environmental Excellence Award from the Association of Washington Businesses.

Liberty received an award for “Green Enterprise & Technology” for the company’s zero-waste factory and recycled aluminum bottle construction. Liberty’s Union Gap factory was custom-built in 2010 with a nod toward the most cutting edge sustainability practices to eliminate air, water and solid waste.

“These award winners are meeting the needs of their customers and taking care of their communities while showing that environmental sustainability is a smart way to do business,” said AWB President Don Brunell. “Employers like these are making the world a better place and strengthening the economy at the same time.”

Liberty Bottleworks President Tim Andis traveled to Spokane on May 7 to receive the award during the AWB’s 21st annual awards event.

“It’s a big honor to be recognized in our home state along with a lot of other really innovative companies that have visionary sustainability practices,” said Liberty Executive Vice President Ryan Clark. “Washington is home to some of country’s most environmentally conscious companies, so to be included at the top of the heap says volumes about what we’re doing here.”
