Award : Fair Wear award goes to Mammut, Odlo and Schöffel

FWF congratulates member companies Mammut, Odlo and Schoeffel to win this year's Best Practice Award with their joint submission.

Every year, during the FWF Annual Conference, an award is presented to the FWF member company with the Best Practice: something they've been doing to improve labour conditions that is newer, smarter, more effective or simply easier than what FWF asks them to do.

The nominees are selected by a jury which reflects FWF's multi-stakeholder DNA. This year the jury consited of Ieke van de Burg (FWF Board Chair), Henk van der Holk (FNV Bondgenoten/IndustriAll), Miges Bauman (Bread for All) and Mark Held (European Outdoor Group).

From a wide selection of submissions, the jury selected three nominees for the Best Practice Award:

  • HempFortex - 'Social Dialogue'
  • Mammut / Odlo / Schoeffel - 'Boost impact through collaboration'
  • Switcher - 'Workers solidarity fund Bangladesh'
The jury awarded the joint submission by Mammut, Odlo and Schoeffel first prize for the following reasons: "As a (small) company, creating change in factories can be difficult. FWF therefore believes that collaboration is the key to the major challenges FWF member companies face. Winning Best Practice by Mammut, Odlo and Schoeffel is commended for its extensive efforts to collaborate. Where this project started with only a few FWF member companies working together, the idea of collaboration now spreads through the outdoor industry."
