Mr. Rob Barker has been appointed President of Amer Sports’ Fitness business unit effective
June 1, 2013. Mr. Paul Byrne, currently President Amer Sport’s Fitness, will retire from the company effective September 1, 2013. Mr. Barker will become member of the Amer Sport’s Executive Board, and he will report to the President and CEO Heikki Takala. Mr. Barker has successfully been leading the Amer Sports Fitness business unit’s international sales and operations since 2011, and he previously held several commercial positions within the Fitness business area over 17 years.
Paul Byrne has been President Amer Sports Fitness business unit since 2002. “We thank Paul for his great contribution to the company. Paul has played a crucial role in the company success during these years, with strong on-going current business momentum. Paul leaves a big legacy, and I’m pleased to have a strong internal successor to carry the momentum forward“, says Heikki Takala, President and CEO of Amer Sports.
Amer Sports’ fitness brand Precor designs and builds premium fitness equipment chosen by clubs, hotels, spas, and individual exercisers in over 90 countries across the world. The US-based Precor’s net sales were EUR 273 million in 2012 (growth of 18% on the previous year).
