Sports and streetwear brand Zimtstern has been sold to
the Swiss Sports-Pool AG and will be integrated into the enterprise this
September. Until now, the Sports-Pool AG has primarily produced and
sold ski and snowboard apparel under the label Belowzero, as well as
offering complete private labels concepts for retail customers.
By uniting Zimtstern and Belowzero under one roof, Sports-Pool wants to “create synergies and expand our market share together,” according to new Sports-Pool CEO, Thomas Triet. Customers of the company will prospectively have access to a wider assortment of winter sports apparel and several different collections in the field of sports and leisure.
All of Zimtstern’s 17 employees and co-founder Thomas Meyer will continue their work for the brand. The personnel structure will not be changed, and contact partners for Zimtstern’s customers will remain the same. The label’s showroom locations in Munich and Zurich will remain, the offices however will be transferred to Sports-Pool’s headquarter in Suhr, Switzerland, as of December 2013.
Zimtstern was founded in 1995 and belongs to the leading providers of snow and bike wear in the German-speaking market.
